NEW COMMITTEE TO STUDY COUNTY BOARD SIZE
On Tuesday August 15 the Winnebago County Board will be considering resolutions to form the committee to study the Winnebago County size as well as approving the members of the committee.
First the committee make up itself. It is to have 8 members. The County Board chair and four other county board members and three citizen members all appointed by the Chair. The following are those nominated by the County Board Chair to be approved by the County Board Tuesday night : Nancy Barker a supervisor from Menasha, Bernie Eagan a supervisor from Town Utica/Nekima area, Tom Widener supervisor from city of Neenah, Pat O'Brien supervisor from the Town of Wolf River, Joe Noll citizen member from Neenah and Kathy Propp citizen member from Oshkosh.
Now for the resolution creating the committee. While the resolution calls for a report from the committee it does not specify a date when it will be given by. I will try and amend it so it states a report be given no later than the December 19,2006 the date of the December Winnebago County Board meeting. If this effort is to have the County Board do something before
the public puts something on the ballot to reduce the Board size then a report should be given and action be taken before the end of the year.
Secondly I would hope other come and speak to the issue of having this committee all around Winnebago County and at evening get maximum public input on the matter.
Hope to see you there to speak on the matter Tuesday night.
