SOME REFORMS FOR THE WINNEBAGO COUNTY BOARD CAN MAKE NO MATTER THE SIZE OF THE WINNEBAGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

1. REDUCE THE NUMBER OF STANDING COMMITTEES:

Many believe that the Winnebago County Board has too many committees. I agree. I feel that we could reduce the number down to six.

How could this be done is having a committee for each one of the areas that divides up County Executive Budget which is presented each year. The six committees would be:

1.ADMINISTRATION
2.PUBLIC SAFETY
3.TRANSPORTATION
4.HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
5.EDUCATION, CULTURE, AND RECREATION
6.PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT

2. MAKE MEETINGS MORE ACCESSIBLE TO PUBLIC AND THE BOARD

Have all committee meets at times where the public and more of the Board could attend. Meetings should be held late in the afternoon or at night.

3. HAVE TWO COUNTY BOARD MEETINGS EACH MONTH-

One meeting could be informational on County departments or major upcoming
projects or resolutions that the Board as a whole must deal with or vote on. The
other one be the regular business meeting for the board.

I am willing to give more details on my ideas; plus I am willing make some adjustments in order to comply with Wisconsin State Statutes.
