Introduction of SB 698, the Wisconsin Health Care Partnership Plan

In January the Winnebago County Board passed a Resolution in support of the Wisconsin Health Plan a health care plan studied by and intiated by Wisconsin StateAFL-CIO which has gained the support of many organizations and businesses throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Well the Wisconsin Health Care Plan has a new name, and has been submitted in Bill form in Wisconsin State Legislature. The following is a e-mail press release I received from Wisconsin AFL-CIO announcing the introduction of the legislation :


Introduction of SB 698, the Wisconsin Health Care Partnership Plan
On Tuesday, the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO, along with elected officials and business leaders as allies, announced the introduction of SB 698, the Wisconsin Health Care Partnership Plan.This is the proposal we've been working on for almost four years, and in that time we've built a convincing coalition of businesses, unions, community groups and medical professionals in support of the proposal. It is no longer the "Wisconsin AFL-CIO" plan--it's a Partnership plan that has credibility because it is practical and effective, as well as bold. It also has bi-partisan sponsorship by Democratic Senator Russ Decker and Republican Representative Terry Musser.
