CABLE COMPETITION BILL GETS DELAYED
-- It was another contentious day in the Senate, with partisan battles continuing from last week and Democrats adjourning abruptly once again.Senate Minority Leader Scott Fitzgerald tried to get a vote on the cable competition bill today, but wasn't able to prevent Democrats from referring the bill to the Joint Committee on Finance.Fitzgerald said he was worried that the bill would "unravel" in the JFC. He claimed Dems were referring the bill was because they didn't have the votes to pass it.But Senate Majority Leader Judy Robson said there are fiscal questions to answer on the bill, and noted that the Senate has a rule that any bill with a fiscal note of more than $10,000 must be routed through the JFC.The bill was referred on a party-line 18-15 vote.Track other Senate votes: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/insession/senate/index.htm
