****THE WISCONSIN WAY *****-BE INORMED BE HEARD
The local presentation on Wisconsin Way will be held Tuesday November 6, 2007 from 7-9 PM at the Park Plaze Hotel on Main Street.
Wisconsin are five different organizations who have come together to find is there a better way to funding public services/programs in the state of Wisconsin and what programs/services should be provided by either state or local government in the state of Wisconsin.
The groups want to get feedback from the public after giving a brief presentation of research done by Wood Communications that have done a number of public surveys the last few to find out what the public thinks government should be allocating money for and how revenue should be raised to pay for such services.
I encourage all elected officials and the general public to attend the presentation and to be informed and give your opinion.

First Wisconsin Way Meeting Tremendous Success
The first public meeting of The Wisconsin Way effort was held Wednesday, October 10th in La Crosse with over 350 people attending the two hour discussion on the future of Wisconsin. Attendees represented all walks of life from business owners, farmers, teachers, relator's, local government officials and state officials.
"The incredibly successful first meeting of The Wisconsin Way effort tells me that citizens care a great deal about the future of our state. The ideas raised were creative and indicated a desire to explore innovative solutions to our challenges," said Mark D. O'Connell, Wisconsin Counties Association Executive Director. O'Connell spoke briefly at the event welcoming attendees and explaining the need to develop public policy which considers where Wisconsin will be or wishes to be in ten, twenty and fifty years.
The Wisconsin Way is a collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the Wisconsin Education Association Council, the Transportation Builders Association, Wood Communications Group, and the Wisconsin Counties Association to engage the public in a dialogue regarding the need for a 21st century workforce, a quality infrastructure, and a tax structure which is more in line with our economy.
The next meeting will be held October 17th in Eau Claire. For more information on these events as well as other Wisconsin Way information, click here.
